Allegiance, by providing consulting services and its expertise, has earned a substantial interest in Innovative Life Sciences Corporation (ILS) and has the potential to become the world wide licensor of all ILS technologies outside of North America.

CM-X™ is a combination of the highest concentration of active ingredients from cinnamon and bittermelon available today according to pharmaceutical standards. ILS has developed a proprietary treatment as a core technology CM-X™ for treating diabetes, high cholesterol and related cardiovascular conditions. These indications comprise part of the metabolic syndrome which in some aspects or other afflicts 60% of the North American population.

ILS’s CM-X™ is the only treatment that effectively treats high blood glucose, cholesterol and related cardiovascular diseases, the three major aspects of the metabolic syndrome, in a safe and effective way. Both Patent and Natural Health Product Applications have been filed with Health Canada. ILS is fully operational and is in the process of launching its first product a chocolate bar to treat diabetes and high cholesterol. Production runs have commenced and the completed product will be available December 2006.

The Metabolic Syndrome

The Metabolic Syndrome is a combination of abnormal biochemical conditions that predispose an individual to developing conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and stroke, three of the most common chronic diseases today. These indicators include borderline high glucose levels, low HDL cholesterol levels and high triglyceride levels, as well as being overweight or obese, having borderline high blood pressure, and an increase in waist girth, CVD is the number one killer in North America.

In 2003 a total of 71.3 million people in North America were diagnosed with CVD which is approximately 34.2% of the population. Furthermore 49.8% of the population had high cholesterol, 65.1% were overweight, and 32.3% had high blood pressure. These statistics increase annually and by the year 2010, the metabolic syndrome is expected to affect 50-75 million people in the US alone and this poses a need for the development of new and effective treatments such as Cinnicelon™ and CM-X™.

The use of natural health products minimizes the chance of side effects and the development of tolerance to medication. In chronic conditions where there is prolonged use of medication, the development of a line of products such as CM-X, CM-XO, CM-XQ, CM-X, (efficacy chart on page 5) is essential in offering the public complementary, comprehensive and perhaps preventive treatment for metabolic syndrome.

Cinnicelon™ and CM-X™: The Core Technology

ILS developed and created a new and unique treatment called Cinnicelon™ comprising of a blend of two standardized natural extracts, cinnamon and bitter melon, called CM-X™ proven to:

ILS retained Paul Herbert of Riches, McKenzie and Herbert, patents attorneys (established in 1870) to file a Patent Applications to protect this intellectual property.

Cinnicelon™ is an OTC product and meets all regulatory requirements in North America.

It has been proven that the vast majority of OTC products under dose their patients and don’t provide a sufficient amount of active ingredients to be effective. ILS’s consultants, including Universities, Laboratories and scientists have compiled extensive scientific documentation and research to determine the appropriate dosage and substantiate its claims. ILS will only manufacture a product containing sufficient dosage to be proven to be effective.
